I sometimes write comics, and then not end up drawing them, because I simply don’t have the skill. It’s very exciting to think that I’m getting closer to being able to draw whatever I want, without worrying about it being too dang hard.
Soon, very soon, I may have to draw a comic featuring nothing but horses inside of cars. Y’know, it’ll be a relationship-based strip.
This is the year of the buffer, truly it is. I’ve got me a Seinfeld calendar hung up in my room to make sure I work every day, and dang it, I will not break that chain. One day down, 360 to go.

Wait, she gets the girl? Really? That’s not how I wrote it! I wrote it where the girl (Beth, evidently) ended up being an airhead, which kinda put our Girl Friday off. Turns out I didn’t know what I was talking about, which is nice, in a way.
Final Gay Super Hero Link: The Question
Renee Montoya (remember her from the old Batman TAS?) took over the blank mask once the original Question, Vic Sage, died of lung cancer, and has kind of been slumming it, in terms of comics characters, ever since. That’s fair, though, since The Question isn’t really an ‘orbiting moon base” sort of super hero.
Thanks for your patience while I squeezed this storyline out. Next week, Janna makes a joke about the size of my dick, and Dan gets a new tattoo! It’ll be great.
Y’see that? Over the shoulder. Yeah, how about that. How about “Kyle, you need to rework how you draw your avatar’s head.” How about bidness.
Gay Super Hero Link of the Day: Midnighter
Ever cheat at a maze by drawing it from the end to the beginning, so you know what the right turns are? Apply that logic to fights: that’s how Midnighter’s power works. He sees his desired outcome of a fight, and then his brain works backwards, showing him what steps he has to take to achieve it. I don’t say this a lot, but he could probably beat Batman in a fight. I know, person-not-interested-in-comics-who’s-reading-this: amazing.
There’s one more strip to this arc, and I solemnly swear not to tag Ultimate Colossus as the featured queer hero, because boo to Ultimate X-Men with stalkery Nightcrawler. I’ve got my principles, dang it.
So, I’m slowly but surely getting back on top of things. Hooray for that!
Gay Super Hero Link of the Day: Northstar
Jean-Paul Beaubier’s probably one of the more widely-known gay supes, and to top it off, he’s also French Canadian. He’s a bit of a douche, but in Chuck Austen’s run on Uncanny X-Men he was a pretty integral character, and also, he was awesome. Northstar/Juggernaut is one of my favourite team-ups.
That’s right: I’m the dude who liked Austen’s Uncanny X-Men run.
